Joshua is author of five books, dozens of articles and case studies, and six psychometric assessments related to emotional intelligence (EQ). He’s a Master Certified Coach (ICF) and the CEO and cofounder of Six Seconds, the global community for EQ. As a consultant, facilitator, or coach, his clients include FedEx, Intel, Etihad Airways, Amazon, Microsoft, the UN, all branches of the US armed services, and numerous schools, organizations, and government agencies around the globe (see the case study library here).
Joshua leads the world’s first & largest network of emotional intelligence practitioners and researchers; Six Seconds has offices and representatives in 25 and works in over 150 countries. He co-developed Six Seconds’ EQ Certification Training which he has delivered on five continents as master-trainer to thousands of professionals seeking practical tools for learning and teaching emotional intelligence. He’s helped launch emotional intelligence programs and companies in over a dozen countries.
Freedman is author of the international bestseller, At the Heart of Leadership, plus The Vital Organization, INSIDE CHANGE, and Whole-Hearted Parenting and coauthor Self-Science. His dozens of cases and articles include The Business Case for Emotional Intelligence, The Workplace Vitality Report, and the world’s largest study of emotional intelligence: State of the Heart. He is coauthor of six validated psychometric assessments including the EQ Leadership Report and the Organizational Vital Signs climate measure.Prior to helping start Six Seconds, Josh was a teacher and still has a passion for education. He’s part of the faculty for the Summer Principals Academy (SPA) at Columbia University’s Teachers College; he’s also cocreator of the world’s largest social emotional learning program, POP-UP Festival – in partnership with UNICEF World Children’s Day. He’s also a parent of two young adults, and lives on the Central Coast of California. His passions include keeping bees and cooking.
